Adaptogens, Honestly

What the word means, what it doesn't, and where the evidence actually is.

The word adaptogen gets used loosely. In the herbalist tradition it names a small group of plants that appear to help the body meet stress with more range — not by stimulating, not by sedating, but by widening the middle.

The clearest research today sits around ashwagandha, rhodiola, and eleuthero. Newer work on reishi and cordyceps is promising but earlier. We formulate around the evidence we trust.
